Dear Family, In the organic chemistry department of Cadiz University, Spain, we are deeply saddened by the news of Jim passing. It is a terrible loss for the university world. However his legacy will live on not only in the outstanding contribution to the natural products chemistry, but also through plenty of his fellows and colleagues who admired him, for whom he set an example. Jim was professor, colleague, but above all, he was a good friend. We had worked for more than 30 years, but we kept a close contact in the last five years, working in the Natural Product Chemistry, which was his passion.
